Learning Support Assistant

Salary:                 Bucks Pay Scale 2.11 – 2.15 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract type:   Part Time or Full Time – 18 to 35 hours a week

We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant in our Learning Support Team to support students with special educational needs in class and within the Learning Support framework. The candidate will be expected to work within the LS team on a variety of duties with a proactive, flexible approach managing communications and record keeping for allocated students and year groups. The LSA will report to the Learning Support Manager and the Assistant Learning Support Manager.

Payroll and Finance Officer

Start date:             Flexible, ideally November/December 2022
Annual Salary:    Salary scale Pay Level 6/7 (31-40), £30,888 to £38,818 depending on experience
Contract:               Permanent, Mon – Thurs 8.30am to 5pm & Fri 8.30am to 4.30pm (37 hours), 52 weeks, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays including a one hour unpaid lunch break.

Beaconsfield High School is an outstanding grammar school in Buckinghamshire with over 1,200 students aged 11-18 and 150 staff. We are looking for a Payroll and Finance Officer to join our Finance team and reporting to the Business Director, who will take responsibility for the payroll function providing a high quality service for all employees.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Ensuring that all employees are paid correctly and on time
• Ensuring that the payroll is adjusted for new starters, leavers or other contract changes, accurately inputting data into the system so that employee details are correctly set up and calculated in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements and are input by required deadlines.
• Liaising with the school payroll provider to ensure that they provide an accurate and timely service
• Addressing and resolving all employee payroll and pension issues, working with the school HR administrator, school leadership team and school specialist advisors as necessary
• Ensuring all relevant returns relating to payroll and pensions are submitted accurately in a timely manner
• Month end processing including posting journal into finance system and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining various payroll and pension spreadsheets / databases and all relevant backup required for year-end statutory returns and audit purposes
• Completing additional finance and admin tasks as requested by the Business Director including assistance with closing of accounts and statutory reporting requirements

The right person for this role should ideally have:

• Previous experience of working in a school payroll and finance environment.
• Understanding of payroll legislation
• Knowledge of pay and conditions of service for support staff and teachers
• Experience using the Bucks payroll system, SIMS and Iris Financials would be an advantage but relevant training will be provided if necessary.
• You must be flexible, able to work to tight deadlines and able to work efficiently in a busy and fast-moving environment.
• You should have excellent Excel, Word and other Microsoft package knowledge.

This role is based on site, hybrid working only by exception.

Beaconsfield High School, an outstanding Grammar School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, has an opportunity for an individual with vision and ambition to inspire and enthuse students in Extra-Curricular Dance.
The school has approximately 1100 students and takes girls from Year 7 to 6th Form. Dance thrives at BHS, with many girls taking the opportunity to take part in the extensive extracurricular program that we offer. We offer inclusive clubs to all year groups throughout KS3, KS4 and KS5. In addition to this, we have Advanced Dance Clubs which students audition to be a part of. In September we are looking to develop our opportunities for Advance Dance, by having a Dance Company that will be our school’s flagship team to promote Dance within our school and beyond. We are continuously looking to develop our dance provision, and we wish to add some high quality Extra-Curricular Dance Teachers to continue with the development of Dance at BHS.
