Parks

Parks House is a very special House at Beaconsfield High School and was named after Rosa Parks, an activist in the civil rights movement and best known for her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Her determination and courage were key traits and influence what we aspire to achieve at Beaconsfield High School.

Rosa Parks was also known for her ability to accept which is the kind of attitude we celebrate at Beaconsfield High School and is also one of our school values - respecting our environment whilst respecting ourselves and others within the School community.  In addition to this, a key value at Beaconsfield High School is having respect for learning and the way in which we learn, which is epitomised by Rosa Parks.

Hello! I’m Lauren and I am super excited to be one of the new Heads of House for Parks.

I study French, Spanish and History for my A-levels as well as an EPQ on the subject of languages. As you can probably tell, I love languages, but I am also very passionate about music and sport. I sing and play the piano, as well as playing netball, hockey and tennis.

I have always aspired to be a part of the Senior Prefect Team, so I am thrilled to be a Head of House for Parks. I will be a friendly face for the younger years to look up to and to come to with any questions they may have.

I have participated in house events since Year 7 and loved every minute of it. So, I would like to implement more inter-house competitions, as well as encouraging more house spirit throughout the school. As a Head of House, alongside my fellow captain Lana, we will motivate all students to try new activities as well as inspiring all students to make the most of their time at Becky High by participating in as much as possible for their fantastic house – Parks!

Go Parks!

Hi, my name is Lana and I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Parks Head of House alongside Lauren!

Currently, I take English Literature, Maths and Economics in addition to completing a politically-themed EPQ. In my free time, I love to read and write fiction and am a bit of a cinephile. I’m also very interested in current affairs and debating the ideologies that captivate contemporary society.

Being Head of (the best!) House would allow me to connect with students in the younger years and hopefully have a positive influence on their school journey during my remaining time here. Additionally, I am eager to cultivate house spirit as a means of encouraging more student participation in the various fun events our school has to offer. Perhaps, even more importantly, I would also love to advocate the ideals we see reflected in Rosa Parks’ legacy and the importance of attempting to live by the principles of fearlessness, dignity and altruism.
