Summer Camp, 26th - 30th July
Parent letter (19.07.21) for those with a confirmed place on the camp. Bookings are now closed.
Second-hand uniform sales
Unfortunately, due to a very busy second-hand uniform sale on Saturday 10th July, there is not enough stock to hold a sale on 29th July. The Second-Hand Uniform Shop will reopen in the autumn term on Friday lunchtimes.
New Parent Guide
The is a comprehensive guide with, we hope, all the information you need for the year ahead. It contains information about our uniform and equipment, our school payment system, the cafeteria, reports and assessments, how to report an absence and what to do if your child is ill at school, plus a welcome from Mrs Smith, our Headteacher, and Mr Gleeson, our incoming Head of Year 7. If, after reading this guide, you have a query, please do not hesitate to email us.
All uniform must be named. Woven and/or printed name tapes should be ordered online, via the Sportcrest website, as per the information leaflet enclosed.
Bold ID Labels
These are compulsory and are to be attached to the front of the PE polo shirt, games skort, PE sweatshirt, PE sports bag and the food technology apron.
Bold ID labels will be in your child’s House colours. Please note that orders for these labels will be processed when the school has allocated students to a House (16th July) and has advised Sportcrest of the Houses allocated. These should be ordered online, as per the woven/printed name tapes. The labels take 2-3 weeks to produce from receipt of order and confirmed House details.
Additional Uniform Items
Students will be required to purchase a house T-shirt from Sportcrest. They will be worn at various House events throughout the year.
Connecting with other parents
The Friends of BHS (FoBHS) use an app called Classlist and providing you gave permission when you filled in the Enrolment Pack, you will be sent an invitation to join on Friday 16th of July. Once you have joined, you will be able to connect with the other parents in your Form, decide on Form Parent Reps and arrange some meet-ups between your child and her form over the summer holidays.
This film was made by our current Chair, Deborah Ward, last year and gives you all the information you'll need about Classlist. Further information about the Friends of BHS can be found here.

Our exciting Summer reading recommendations for Year 7 can be found here. Choose a book (or two!) from the list and I look forward to hearing all about it in your Library lessons in September.
